CRI's versatile and always-friendly employee heads south

China Media News will never forget his first day at China Radio International, when a very pretty girl stood smoking by the washrooms in the station's old building. She was friendly and introduced herself to a still jet-lagged new employee.

From that day forward, Liu Min (aka April) served as a good friend to the many new foreigners who arrived from all over the world. She worked primarily in CRI's internet department, but also assisted on several talk shows, including her most recent contributions to Beyond Beijing. Liu Min was also responsible for launching CRI's controversial Talk China forum, which opens the floor for contributions on hot-button topics such as Taiwan and Tibet.

Besides her work, Liu Min's desk served as a regular stop for lonely laowais looking to kill time rather than continue with their duties. She always greeted these visitors with a smile.

Liu Min will be heading to Shanghai shortly to "explore other business opportunities." China Media News wishes her every success.
