Hong Kong Media: March 2008 Archives

Thomas Crampton's Media & Technology blog is reporting that Malaysia's business magazine, The Edge, will launch a Hong Kong edition in September 2008:

Printed on Thursdays for distribution on Friday and over the weekend, the magazine will try to fill the void in finance news left by the lack of The Wall Street Journal over the weekend. (Speaking personally, there is not much of a void: The Saturday/Sunday edition of the Financial Times does a pretty good job of occupying my weekend.)
Starting with a 64-page book and 5,000-copy print run, The Edge will use high quality art paper and a tabloid format.
Last June, The Edge launched The Edge Financial Daily a daily newspaper in Malaysia on a slightly smaller than Berliner format.
The Edge is not the first Southeast Asian publication mulling a launch in Hong Kong. Singapore Press Holdings came to Hong Kong a couple years ago, but concluded there was not enough appetite for a Singapore-run business magazine in Hong Kong.
