Tianjin TV: February 2008 Archives

China Media News is often sent emails from people looking for work in television in China. Unfortunately, for native speakers of English, there are only three options for English-language television: CCTV 9, the Guangzhou English Channel, and Shanghai's new ICS.

To that list we can now add Tianjin Television, which has recently launched BizTraveler, a program based on CNN's Business Traveler. Cam MacMurchy, your correspondent here at China Media News, hosts the program alongside Erin Mackie, a Canadian media veteran from Toronto. (More on the new program can be found on our sister site, Zhongnanhai, here and here.)

Many cities in China are considering experimenting with locally-run English language television and radio programs, and Tianjin perhaps makes the most sense. The growing TEDA area is becoming a magnet for foreign investment and companies, resulting in a larger English-speaking expat population.
